I have always loved working with computers. From my first computer, a Commodore Vic-20, through my gear today I like to see what computers can do for me. I like to do it for free, if I can. Unless clearly stated, nothing on this website costs anything to do. There are some incidental expenses that I would recommend, mainly get a real SSL certificate. They are around $20 a year and I only need one to secure my network.
This website is for sharing. I self-host everything that I can. From DNS resolution to playing FAFO ( F around and find out) with some application, service, or server that intrigued me. I have found that many walkthroughs were probably not tested or they were not maintained and that is frustrating. Still other websites are simply an ad-farm that is full of click-bait. It is not my mission to provide revenue streams to corporate, therefore there is no advertising here.
Any walkthroughs that are posted on this website, unless otherwise specified, start with a base of the latest long-term release of Ubuntu. If the walkthrough includes stacked tech, the steps will be clear.
Lastly, there are many ways to accomplish what I have done. If you would like to share how you were successful or if you used a different distribution of Linux, feel free to share your knowledge and experience here.
This is the mission of this website and thank you for the visit, Lisa!
